To use the Microsoft Surface Dock Updater tool for peak performance, you must download the dedicated installer package from Microsoft and run it while your Surface device is actively connected to the dock.
The original interactive Surface Dock Updater tool has been retired and replaced by a modernized, automated background installer distributed via the Official Microsoft Download Center. Before starting, ensure your system meets these critical prerequisites to avoid bricking your hardware:
Power Check: Plug your Surface device into AC power. Ensure the battery is charged to at least 40%.

OS Version: Ensure your host device is running a supported operating system version (Windows 10 Version 1803 or later, or Windows 11).
